The Forum acts as a communication and information hub for the Dogs in Distress community. It has a number of important functions. It allows potential adopters to access information on our dogs that are in foster care looking for forever homes. Each dog has a thread on the forum which is updated by the fosterer.
The forum allows our fosterers to view dogs who urgently need fostercare and allows us to follow the “Happy Endings” of our dogs who have gone to their forever homes. It also has areas for general discussions on dog ownership etc. and information on Dogs in Distress fundraising initiatives or events.
Anyone can visit the forum and view the content. However, if you would like to add comments to the forum it is necessary to register as a member first. It’s simple to do. Members may post comments or ask questions by scrolling to the bottom of a forum thread and clicking the “Post Reply” button.
831 Dogs Used in Experiments in Irish Labs in 2011
A record 831 dogs were used in experiments in Irish labs in 2010 — a four-fold increase on 2005. Some 791 of the 831 were not given anaesthetic, while 160 of the dogs were used in unspecified toxicology tests. These dogs were abused alongside 280,000 other animals who suffered in Irish lab experiments in 2010.
